ARCHITECTURE
LAKESIDE LAPSE
Set against the mountainside, Filario Hotel cuts a fit modern figure next to Lake Como, albeit one that blends seamlessly with its historical surroundings. The building, once the site of a small wire factory, took five years to build thanks to restrictions that protect the landscape and history of the area. INTERIOR DESIGN
ALESSANDRO AGRATI
Well-known Italian designer Alessandro Agrati has lent his magic to Filario’s décor, implementing his signature style of “dressing” interiors with textiles and light and strong-tempered objects. Italian heritage and artisanship are a focal point at the hotel, which is why its furniture was created by local craftsmen in the neighboring town of Cantù, a world-class hub for high-end Italian design.
