This Greenwich Village building, just off Washington Square park, was once a down-at-heel single occupancy hotel that housed many Beat Generation writers such as Jack Kerouac and Gregory Corso. In 2012, MacPherson, the visionary hotelier behind the Bowery, the Maritime and the Waverly Inn, bought the property, in partnership with BD Hotels, and has given it a stylish renovation. Now it's the darling of the fashion set, who love its clubby feel, oak-panelled rooms and roaring open fires.
