This restaurant is an established restaurant chain from Hong Kong's first venture in mainland China. The Shanghai branch is their flagship store and as such seeks to represent their brand culture while expressing characteristic elements of East Asian style.
The restaurant, Dragon Court, serves modern Cantonese dishes carefully designed around floral patterns and forms with careful attention paid to their dishes appearance, aroma and flavour. HRC sought to produce an environment which would elevate and enhance this dining experience, and reflect the cuisine's floral inspiration.
The overarching theme of the restaurant is the Chinese garden where new vistas are revealed to the stroller as they pass through from space to space. This approach is combined with a systematic Western restaurant architecture to create a subtle, experiential expression of Eastern values which avoids obvious, visual motifs.
The restaurant's reception area aims to blur the division between exterior and interior creating a gradual, transitioned entry into the restaurant. A ring of vertical wooden slats extends both inwards, dividing the reception space, and outwards along the ceiling into the building's second floor lobby, subtly extending the outer boundary of the restaurant.
Major boundaries between areas of the restaurant are gently announced with minimalistic, metallic gateways, and these are further reflected in simple, metal framework and glass paneled booths within the main dining area.
Throughout the design the use of opaque or transparent materials, mirrors, and discontinuous dividing surfaces creates a continuously varied and layered visual quality.
投资方作为香港餐饮连锁品牌,希望能在上海开设第一家品牌店面。投资方希望找到一家能很好诠释品牌文化并能将东方气质而不流于表面的感觉诠释出来。当得知汉象设计一直致力于东方自然文化的设计时,我们开始了新的整合。
龙腾苑粤菜每道菜品独具匠心的设计,并结合于花艺设计,是菜品在保留色香味前提下有了新的欣赏高度,基于这样的根基,汉象设计将如何将品牌,文化,设计,菜品结合起来呢?
汉象设计在本次设计中将中国园林的漫游式体验方式结合中国画理并用西方的建筑体系来融合与一体,并去除所谓中式设计中的符号化,讲东方自然的感觉融合环境中。使之在设计中体现菜品中同样具有的五感设计。让人在这样的环境中放松,惬意。
在入口方式中,设计突破传统思路,讲内卫界限的分割模糊化,使之内外交融。当人处于其中,灰空间所展现的魅力能很好的体现出来,慢慢步入大厅,通过转折,裁景的方式,是空间处处入画…….
本次整合中对灯光的要求汉象设计更花大力气,并实际得到让人放松的用餐环境。在周围温和的色系和灯光的烘托下,可以在这里体验创新粤菜所带来的完全不一样的味觉,视觉等的感受。
汉象设计通过这样的全新设计方式,让餐饮品牌的延续和发展得到很好的解决方案,也能更好的体现设计的价值所在。并让设计所展现出来的生命值最大化。
