Tokyo is often seen as a bustling, modern metropolis full of skyscrapers and glass-covered buildings. However, there is an entire part of the city, called Shitamachi, that feels more like living history. A number of old Showa-era buildings and shops give us a glimpse into a time long passed but still alive in today's present. Walking across a Shitamachi area can sometimes come close to time traveling. Halas, a lot of these remains won't survive for much longer as they will become victim of the ever ongoing modernization of the city.
This photo series is intended to immortalize the beauty of these areas and their unique atmosphere at night.
